Launch!

South-West Chinese Christian Church Kingsgrove officially launched on Sunday April 26, 2009.
Thanks to all those who came and for the many more who prayed for us.
We had 237 in attendance (we prayed for 200!). God once again exceeded our expectations. It was a joyous morning of corporate worship, prayer, dedication and celebration. And yes, the food was very yummy afterwards!

Bernie Moore, one of the ‘old-timers’ from St Thomas’ Anglican Church (the building in which we are meeting, and the church with which we partnered to plant South-West CCC) shared about his passion for the gospel and the faithfulness of God in bringing a ministry like ours back into this location at Kingsgrove.
For these brothers and sisters who are all well into their 70s and 80s, it was a tremendous encouragement to see the church full once again. At its peak, St Thomas boasted a Sunday School of nearly 1000 children each Sunday! I have no idea how they would have catered for so many, but praise God that he is honouring their faithfulness and we are able to walk into their legacy after so many years.
I preached on the ‘Values, Vision and Mission of South-West Chinese Christian Church’. You can catch the sermon below on video.
